• Saranya Ponvannan was the one who suggested Yogi Babu for a role in Remo (2016). She had seen his work in small comedy bits and told director Bakkiyaraj Kannan to cast him. That film became their first pairing.
• In Kolamavu Kokila (2018), Yogi Babu improvised most of his lines on set. Saranya would then react in real time, not knowing what he'd say next. Director Nelson said their back-and-forth felt like a real mother-son argument, not a scripted scene.
