• They were paired together for the first time in Raakhi Ki Saugandh (1979) because the producer needed a fresh jodi to compete with Amitabh-Rekha's dominance. Neither was a first choice — Sarika was still a teenager and Vinod was recovering from a flop phase.
• On the sets of Bin Phere Hum Tere (1979), Vinod would deliberately mess up his lines to make Sarika laugh during serious scenes. She later said his goofiness helped her relax — she was only 12 when they started shooting and felt intimidated by the adult love scenes.
• Vinod Mehra personally taught Sarika how to drive a car during the breaks on Yeh Kaisa Insaf? (1980). She was 13 and he was 34 — he treated her like a younger sister, not a co-star.
• Sarika once said in an interview: 'Vinod bhai was the only hero who never made me feel like a child actor. He'd say, 'You're the heroine, act like one.' That confidence stayed with me.'
• Their fourth and final film together, Pyaara Dushman (1980), was the only one where they played a married couple. It flopped hard, and neither worked with the other again — but it directly led to Vinod casting Sarika's younger sister in a later project.
