Trivia

  • The film was originally titled 'Rakhi Ki Saugandh' but is sometimes listed as 'Raakhi Ki Saugandh' due to spelling variations in promotional materials.
  • This was one of the few films where actor Mithun Chakraborty played a locksmith, a common-man role, before his rise as a disco-dancing star.
  • The movie's climax was shot in a real factory setting to add authenticity to the industrial action sequences.
  • Actress Ranjeeta Kaur, who played the blind sister Paro, had to keep her eyes unfocused in many scenes to portray blindness convincingly.
  • The soundtrack by Laxmikant-Pyarelal included a popular qawwali, 'Tumhe Dekha To Yeh Khayal Aaya', sung by Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle.
  • Despite being an action drama, the film highlighted social issues like unemployment and medical costs, common themes in late-1970s Hindi cinema.
  • It was one of the early collaborations between director Shibu Mitra and Mithun Chakraborty, who later worked together in several successful films.
