• Salman Khan personally called Govinda to offer him the role in Partner (2007). Govinda was hesitant about playing a sidekick, but Salman convinced him by saying the film would be a laugh riot.
• In Partner (2007), Salman played the straight man while Govinda did all the improvisation. Govinda would change his lines on set, and Salman would just react — that unscripted back-and-forth became the film's biggest comic engine.
• During the shoot of Salaam-e-Ishq (2007), Govinda would often arrive late on set. Salman, known for his own time issues, never complained — instead, he'd joke that Govinda was the only person who could make him wait without getting yelled at.
