• Salman Khan was already a star when he signed Kurbaan (1991), but Dia Mirza was a newcomer. He personally requested the director to cast her after seeing her in a music video — she hadn't even done a film yet.
• In Dus (1997), Salman and Dia had only one scene together — a brief confrontation. The rest of the film was shot separately. They never shared a single dialogue-heavy sequence, yet the poster sold the film as a pair.
• Dia Mirza has said in interviews that Salman was the one who taught her how to handle the press. After Kurbaan flopped, he told her: 'Don't read reviews. Just keep working.' She still follows that advice.
