The director, Sharat Katariya, saw her audition tape and paired them specifically because her raw, non-filmy energy would make Ayushmann's character look more real.
• In Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bhumi's character is heavier and more confident than Ayushmann's insecure husband. Off-screen, Bhumi was terrified of her first scene — a close-up where she had to eat a banana.
