• Rishi Kapoor was the one who pushed producer-director Ravi Tandon to cast him in 'Jhoota Kahin Ka' (1979). Tandon had initially considered a different lead, but Rishi lobbied hard for the role, convinced the script needed his energy.
• On the sets of 'Aan Aur Shaan' (1984), Ravi Tandon let Rishi Kapoor improvise most of his comic timing. Rishi would often rewrite his own lines on the spot, and Tandon would just roll camera — trusting his instinct over the written script.
• Ravi Tandon and Rishi Kapoor shared a close off-screen bond. Tandon often invited Rishi for Sunday lunches at his home, where they would discuss future projects over whiskey. Their families remained friendly even after the films stopped.
