• They were already married for 29 years when they signed 'Love Aaj Kal' (2009). Director Imtiaz Ali didn't know they were a couple — he just wanted two actors who could play a long-married couple with zero awkwardness. Rishi and Neetu didn't tell him until after the first reading.
• On 'Do Dooni Chaar' (2010), Neetu would deliberately flub her lines in the first take to make Rishi laugh. She knew he was nervous about playing a middle-class dad after decades of playing rich brats. His laughter loosened him up, and the second take was always the keeper.
• 'Do Dooni Chaar' (2010) was the first Hindi film to win the National Award for Best Feature Film in the Family Welfare category. That award exists only because Rishi and Neetu convinced the director to shoot in real Delhi homes instead of a set — the authenticity became the film's calling card.
