• They first came together for Khoon Bahaa Ganga Mein (1988) because the director, Rajkumar Kohli, needed a fresh pair for a violent action-romance. Neither was a big star yet — the gamble was that both were hungry and cheap.
• In Jaadugar (1989), Amrita played a fiery village belle opposite Aditya's magician. The trick to their on-screen heat? Aditya would deliberately flub his lines in the middle of a romantic scene, making Amrita laugh — and the director kept those takes because the irritation looked real.
• During the shoot of Veeru Dada (1990), Amrita and Aditya reportedly had a massive fight on set over a scene where he had to slap her. She insisted he actually hit her for realism; he refused. They didn't speak for two days after. The final slap in the film is a cut — they never reconciled that shot.
• Paap Ki Aandhi (1991) was their last film together — and it directly led to Aditya being cast in a negative role in a later film because the producer saw how convincingly he played a villain opposite Amrita. That later role? It rebooted his career in the mid-90s.
• Years later, Amrita told a tabloid: 'Aditya and I were like two stray dogs thrown into the same cage. We either fought or made the film work. There was no middle ground.' She said this in a 1993 interview with Stardust.
