• K. Ravi Shankar was a Telugu director making his Hindi debut with Sindoor (1987). He cast Govinda because he wanted a dancer who could also do emotional scenes — and Govinda was the only star who said yes without asking for a script change.
• On the sets of Dariya Dil (1988), Govinda would finish his dance steps in one take, then push Ravi Shankar to let him improvise comedy lines. The director finally gave him a free hand — and the film's biggest laughs came from those unscripted moments.
