Sindoor is a 1987 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by K. Ravi Shankar. It stars Shashi Kapoor, Jaya Prada, Govinda, and Neelam Kothari. The story follows Laxmi, a woman who pretends to be a widow to raise an orphaned girl. She hides her true identity from her husband and daughter. The film explores themes of sacrifice, misunderstanding, and family. It was a commercial hit and one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 1987. The music was composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal. The film was released on 14 August 1987.

Storyline
Laxmi leaves her husband after a misunderstanding. She saves a little girl named Lalita from an accident. Lalita's father dies. Laxmi promises to raise Lalita as her own. She wears widow clothes to hide her past. Years later, her husband Vijay returns. He does not know Lalita is not her daughter. Secrets and lies threaten to tear the family apart.
