• Dharmendra personally requested Parveen Babi for 'The Burning Train' (1980) after seeing her in 'Amar Akbar Anthony'. He told the director she had the right intensity for the role of a woman caught in a disaster.
• On the sets of 'Ek Do Teen Chaar' (1980), Parveen Babi kept forgetting her lines during a tense confrontation scene. Dharmendra started feeding her the lines in a whisper between takes, and she delivered the scene in one shot. The director kept that take.
• During the shoot of 'Jaani Dost' (1983), Parveen Babi was going through a severe personal crisis. Dharmendra would sit with her in her vanity van between shots, just talking about her childhood in Gujarat to calm her down. She later said he was the only co-star who never judged her.
• Parveen Babi once told a journalist: 'Dharamji is the only man in this industry who made me feel safe. He never once tried to flirt or take advantage. He treated me like a younger sister, and I needed that.'
• The success of 'The Burning Train' (1980) directly led to the casting of both actors in the multi-starrer 'Sholay' sequel plans that never materialized. But the film's ensemble disaster formula was later copied by 'Mega Flood' (1985) and 'The Volcano' (1987).
