• Dulal Guha didn't just cast Dharmendra in 'Dil Kaa Heera' — he wrote the entire film around the actor's real-life image as a soft-hearted tough guy. The script was tailored so Dharmendra could play a smuggler with a conscience, a role Guha felt only he could pull off without losing the audience's sympathy.
• On the set of 'Do Dishayen', Dharmendra would deliberately mess up his lines in the first take just to get a reaction out of Guha. The director would then storm over, rewrite the dialogue on the spot, and Dharmendra would nail it in the next take. Guha later admitted this ritual helped him find the sharper version of every scene.
• After 'Mera Karam Mera Dharam' tanked at the box office, Guha and Dharmendra didn't speak for nearly two years. The film's failure hit Guha hard — he felt he'd let down his star. Dharmendra eventually showed up at Guha's house unannounced with a bottle of whiskey, and they patched things up over a single night. They never worked together again, but remained friends until Guha's death.
