• Senthil and Mayilsamy first shared screen space in 'Kanni Rasi' (1985) because the director needed two distinct comic foils for the lead — and neither had worked together before. The pairing was accidental; the director just cast two funny guys he trusted.
• In 'Vedham' (2001), Senthil played the straight man while Mayilsamy did all the physical comedy. Senthil later said Mayilsamy's timing forced him to stay deadpan — if he laughed, the scene broke. That push-pull made their banter feel real.
• During 'Military' (2003), Senthil and Mayilsamy shared a room on location for three weeks. They reportedly spent nights rewriting each other's lines — Mayilsamy would add slapstick, Senthil would trim it. The director let them keep the final versions.
