• Rakesh Roshan was already a star when he signed Bindiya Goswami for 'Khatta Meetha' (1981). But she was the one who pushed him to take the role of a bumbling husband — he initially wanted to play the romantic lead. She told him the comic part would be a career game-changer.
• In 'Hotel' (1981), Bindiya Goswami's character was a no-nonsense manager. Rakesh Roshan deliberately slowed down his usual fast dialogue delivery to match her measured, grounded rhythm. He later said she made him 'act with his eyes, not his mouth' in that film.
• During the shoot of 'Hamari Bahu Alka' (1982), Bindiya Goswami was pregnant with her first child. Rakesh Roshan personally drove her to the hospital when she went into labour mid-schedule. They never worked together again after that film.
