• K. S. Ravikumar didn't originally plan to direct Sigaram Thodu (2014). He was producing it. But when the original director walked out mid-pre-production, Ravikumar stepped in to direct — and that's how he and Sathish first worked together.
• On the sets of ThangaMagan (2015), Ravikumar realized Sathish could do more than comedy. He started writing emotional beats specifically for him — the scene where Sathish's character breaks down in the climax was Ravikumar's idea, and it became the film's most talked-about moment.
• Remo (2016) was originally written for a different actor. But Sathish pushed Ravikumar to let him play the lead. That film became Sathish's first solo hero project — and directly launched him as a mainstream lead in Tamil cinema.
• During the shoot of Rekka (2016), Ravikumar would call Sathish every morning at 6 AM to discuss the day's scenes. Sathish later said in an interview that those calls were his 'film school' — Ravikumar taught him how to read a script like a director.
• "Ravikumar sir is the only director who made me cry on screen. He knows my weaknesses better than I do." — Sathish, in a 2017 interview with The Hindu, talking about ThangaMagan.
• In Mudinja Ivana Pudi (2016), Ravikumar deliberately gave Sathish no written dialogues for the first half. He told him to improvise every line based on the other actor's reactions. That raw, unpolished energy became the film's biggest selling point.
