
Tehzeeb(2003)
Tehzeeb (transl. 'Etiquette') is a 2003 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Khalid Mohammed. The film stars Shabana Azmi, Urmila Matondkar, Dia Mirza, Arjun Rampal, and Rishi Kapoor in a special appearance. The story follows Rukhsana Jamal, a celebrated singer, and her elder daughter Tehzeeb, who blames her mother for her father's suicide. Years of resentment and a visit from Rukhsana force the family to confront buried truths. The film is an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's Swedish drama Autumn Sonata (1978) and was dedicated to Bergman. Shabana Azmi won the Zee Cine Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance. The music was composed by A.R. Rahman, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. Tehzeeb was released on 21 November 2003.

Storyline
Tehzeeb is a young woman who blames her mother Rukhsana for her father's suicide. She marries against her mother's wishes and raises her mentally challenged sister alone. When Rukhsana visits after five years, old wounds reopen. The family must face the truth before it destroys them.
