Agni Varsha is a 2002 Indian period drama film in Hindi directed by Arjun Sajnani. The cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Nagarjuna, Raveena Tandon, Milind Soman, and Prabhu Deva. The story is set in a drought-stricken kingdom where a fire sacrifice is performed to bring rain. The narrative follows the intertwined lives of two brothers, their father, and a tribal woman, exploring themes of love, betrayal, and caste conflict. The film is an adaptation of Girish Karnad's play The Fire and the Rain, which itself draws from the Mahabharata. It features music by Sandesh Shandilya and Taufiq Qureshi. Storyline
A kingdom is dying from a long drought. Aravasu, a young Brahmin, wants to marry Nittilai, a tribal girl. But his family is torn apart by secrets, an affair, and a murder. As a fire sacrifice burns for rain, Aravasu must choose between love and duty.
