Vaastav: The Reality(1999)
Vaastav: The Reality is a 1999 Indian Hindi-language crime action film written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar in his Bollywood directorial debut. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Namrata Shirodkar, and Sanjay Narvekar in lead roles, with Mohnish Behl, Paresh Rawal, Reema Lagoo, and Shivaji Satam in supporting roles. The story follows Raghunath 'Raghu' Shivalkar, a simple Mumbai chawl resident who accidentally kills a local goon and is forced into the city's violent underworld. As Raghu rises to become a feared gangster, he loses his family, his sanity, and ultimately his life. The film is loosely based on the life of gangster Chhota Rajan. Sanjay Dutt's performance received universal critical acclaim and is widely considered his career-best. Vaastav: The Reality was a major commercial success and has since become a cult classic. It was released on 7 October 1999.

Storyline
Raghu is a jobless young man who starts a pav bhaji stall with his best friend Dedh Footiya. After a fight with local goons turns deadly, Raghu is forced to join the Mumbai underworld to survive. As he climbs the ranks, he becomes a ruthless hitman. But the violence and betrayal slowly destroy everything he loves.
