When he passed, the director Mahesh Bhatt turned to Sanjay Dutt — and paired him with Paresh Rawal, who was still a theatre actor finding his footing in films. • In Hathyar (1989), Paresh Rawal played a cold-blooded killer while Sanjay Dutt played a cop.
