Banarasi Babu(1997)
Banarasi Babu is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by David Dhawan. The film stars Govinda as Gopi, a traditional village man, and Ramya as Madhu, his modern wife. Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, and Bindu appear in supporting roles. The story follows Gopi as he tries to win back his runaway wife after a cultural clash leads to separation. The film was inspired by William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew and the Tamil film Pattikada Pattanama. It features music composed by Anand–Milind with lyrics by Sameer. Storyline
Gopi, a simple man from Banaras, marries Madhu, a modern woman from abroad. Their cultural differences cause fights, and Madhu runs away. Gopi follows her to Singapore, makes her pregnant, and takes their baby back to his village. He threatens to remarry, forcing Madhu to choose between freedom and family.
