Trivia

  • The film was a remake of the 1989 Telugu blockbuster 'State Rowdy', also directed by Rama Rao Tatineni.
  • It was one of the early major roles for actor Mithun Chakraborty's brother, Sumit Chakraborty, who played the adult hero.
  • The climax was shot at the historic Golconda Fort in Hyderabad, a common location for action films of the era.
  • The film's music composer, Bappi Lahiri, was known for disco but here delivered a dramatic, violin-heavy background score.
  • Despite the action genre, the plot heavily focuses on the teacher-student relationship, a popular emotional theme in 90s cinema.
  • The movie underperformed at the box office, overshadowed by bigger hits like 'Saajan' and 'Phool Aur Kaante' that year.
  • Director Tatineni primarily worked in Telugu cinema; this was one of his few direct Hindi film ventures.
