Kanithan (2016) is a Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by T. N. Santhosh. The film stars Atharvaa as Gowtham Ramalingam, a TV journalist, alongside Catherine Tresa as Anu. The story follows Gowtham, who is falsely arrested for a bank fraud involving fake degree certificates. He discovers a massive scam network run by the ruthless Thura Sarkar, played by Tarun Arora. The film explores themes of corruption, justice, and irony through a cat-and-mouse narrative. Sivamani composed the music, and Arvind Krishna handled the cinematography. The film received mixed reviews from critics but was a commercial hit at the box office. It was later remade in Kannada as Athiratha (2017) and in Telugu as Arjun Suravaram (2019).

Storyline
