It stars Rajinikanth in a triple role as Dr. Vaseegaran, Chitti the robot, and Kutti, alongside Akshay Kumar as Pakshi Rajan and Amy Jackson as Nila. The story follows Chitti, a dismantled humanoid robot, who is reactivated to stop a vengeful spirit that controls mobile phones. This spirit, Pakshi Rajan, seeks to destroy all cell phones and towers to avenge the death of birds caused by radiation. The film was the most expensive Indian film at the time of release and was the first Indian film shot natively in 3D. It received mixed reviews but was praised for its visual effects, performances, and action sequences. 2.0 became the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time and the highest-grossing Indian film of 2018, earning over ₹800 crore worldwide. It was released worldwide on 30 November 2018 in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu.

Storyline
A vengeful spirit made of negative energy takes control of every mobile phone in the city. The phones form a giant bird and attack people. Dr. Vaseegaran must reactivate his old robot Chitti to stop the threat. But the spirit is a heartbroken bird lover who wants revenge. Chitti must fight a enemy he feels sorry for.
