Vaathiyaar Veettu Pillai is a 1989 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by P. Vasu. The film stars Sathyaraj in his 100th acting role, alongside Shobana, Rajesh, Goundamani, and Nassar. The story follows Thangaraj, a teacher's son, who opposes a wealthy landlord's plan to build a chemical factory that would destroy his village. The landlord attacks Thangaraj's family, leading to a violent conflict. The film is a remake of the Kannada film Nammoora Raja, also written by Vasu. Ilaiyaraaja composed the soundtrack. Despite Sathyaraj's milestone, the film was a box office failure and received mixed reviews for its underwhelming narrative. It was released on 28 October 1989, alongside Sathyaraj's other release Dravidan.
