• Nassar and Srividya first shared screen space in 'Thaai Naadu' (1989), but the real spark came when director R. Sundarrajan paired them again the same year in 'Vaathiyaar Veettu Pillai'. Sundarrajan bet on their contrasting energies — Nassar's raw intensity and Srividya's gentle authority — to sell a family drama. The film worked, and they became his go-to pair for emotional conflicts.
• In 'Vaathiyaar Veettu Pillai' (1989), Srividya deliberately slowed down her dialogue delivery to match Nassar's naturalistic pauses. She told a magazine later that she did this so their scenes wouldn't feel like a stage actor (her) overpowering a film actor (him). That adjustment made their arguments feel real, not rehearsed.
• During the shoot of 'Amma Pillai' (1990), Nassar was struggling with a personal loss. Srividya quietly took over his scenes, feeding him lines off-camera and adjusting her blocking so he wouldn't have to move much. She never spoke about it publicly, but Nassar mentioned it years later in a private gathering.
• Their pairing in 'Thirumathi Palanisamy' (1992) was so mismatched — a loud comedy with a 2.5/10 rating — that it killed any chance of them being cast as a romantic lead pair again. After that film, directors only offered them roles as mother-son or aunt-nephew. They never played lovers on screen again.
• Nassar once said about Srividya: 'She taught me that acting is not about shouting louder than the other person. In our films together, she would whisper, and I had to lean in. That's when I learned to listen on screen.' He said this at a 2015 tribute event for her.
• After 'Jodi' (1999), they never worked together again. But Srividya sent Nassar a handwritten note after the film's release, thanking him for 'not treating her like a fading star.' He kept that note in his wallet until she passed away in 2006.
