
Manasukkul Mathappu(1988)
Manasukkul Mathappu (1988) is a Tamil-language drama film written and directed by the duo Robert–Rajasekar. The film stars Prabhu, Saranya Ponvannan, and Lissy in lead roles, with Sarath Babu and Senthamarai in supporting parts. It follows Shekar, a man who becomes mentally ill after witnessing his girlfriend's death by electrocution at a rock concert. He is admitted to a mental institution run by the authoritarian Dr. Nagaraj. A young doctor named Geetha, Nagaraj's daughter, helps Shekar recover his memory and falls in love with him. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Thalavattam, which was inspired by One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Prabhu won the Cinema Express Award for Best Actor – Tamil for his performance. The film was released on 24 June 1988.

Storyline
Shekar loses his girlfriend Anitha in a tragic electrocution accident at a concert. The trauma shatters his mind and he is sent to a mental institution. There, he meets Geetha, a kind doctor who believes he can heal. But Geetha's father, the cruel Dr. Nagaraj, controls the institution and opposes their growing bond. Shekar must fight to regain his sanity while Nagaraj tries to destroy him.
