Alai Osai(1985)
Alai Osai is a 1985 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Sirumugai Ravi in his directorial debut. The film stars Vijayakanth and Nalini in lead roles. The story follows Muthu, an educated villager who fights against a cruel landlord exploiting the poor. The film is known for its raw portrayal of caste and class oppression. Ilaiyaraaja composed the soundtrack, with the song 'Poradada' later becoming a Dalit anthem. The film was given an A certificate by the censor board and released on 14 January 1985. Following Vijayakanth's death in 2023, Film Companion included it in a list of seven Vijayakanth films that left an Indian cinema legacy.

Storyline
An educated young man named Muthu returns to his village and witnesses the brutal exploitation of poor farmers by a powerful landlord. He decides to fight back using his knowledge and courage. But the landlord uses violence, money, and political connections to crush him. Muthu must risk everything to bring justice to his people.
