Thaiveedu (transl. Mother's House) is a 1983 Indian Tamil-language masala film directed by R. Thyagarajan. The film stars Rajinikanth and Anita Raj in lead roles, with Major Sundarrajan, Jai Shankar, and M. N. Nambiar in supporting parts. The story follows an orphan car thief who is manipulated by a criminal into stealing a treasure sword from his own biological father. The film was simultaneously shot in Hindi as Jeet Hamaari with Rajinikanth reprising his role. It was a commercial success at the box office and received positive reviews for its entertainment value. Thaiveedu was released on 14 April 1983.

Storyline
An orphan car thief named Raju is tricked by a criminal into stealing an antique sword. The sword holds the key to a hidden treasure. But Raju does not know that the sword belongs to his real father. He must choose between loyalty to the man who raised him and the family he never knew.
