The film stars Mohan as Ravi Kumar, a poor singer, and Poornima Jayaram as Radha, a wealthy woman who secretly helps him achieve fame. The supporting cast includes Rajini, S. Ve. Shekher, Poornam Viswanathan, Rajesh, and Goundamani. The story follows Radha's unspoken love for Ravi and his hidden terminal illness, leading to a tragic conclusion. Ilaiyaraaja composed the soundtrack, which became a major success. The film ran for over a year in theatres, achieving silver jubilee status.
