Kavarimaan(1979)
Kavarimaan is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language crime drama film directed by S. P. Muthuraman and written by Panchu Arunachalam. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan as Thyagarajan, an IAS officer, with Sridevi, Vijayakumar, Ravichandran, and Sekhar in supporting roles. The story follows Thyagarajan after he murders his wife in front of his daughter and the painful aftermath of that act. It explores the strained relationship between father and daughter as she grows up hating him. The film was noted for its bold subject matter and Sivaji Ganesan's willingness to play an anti-heroic character. Ilaiyaraaja composed the soundtrack, which became popular. Kavarimaan was a commercial success despite initial audience hesitation over the lead character's actions. It was released on 6 April 1979.

Storyline
Thyagarajan, an IAS officer, kills his wife after catching her with her lover. His young daughter Uma witnesses the murder and grows up despising him. After prison, he tries to reconnect with her, but she falls for a womaniser. Thyagarajan must protect her from a danger she refuses to see.
