• Sivaji Ganesan personally requested Sridevi for Pilot Premnath (1978) after seeing her in a Telugu film. He told the director she had the intensity to match his own. That film became their first together.
• On the sets of Kavarimaan (1979), Sivaji would deliberately slow down his dialogue delivery in emotional scenes so Sridevi could match his rhythm. She later said he taught her how to pause for effect — something she carried into her Hindi films.
• Sridevi called Sivaji 'Sivaji sir' even after five films together. He insisted she drop the 'sir' after Sandhippu (1983). She never did. She said it felt wrong to call him anything else.
• Their pairing in Pattakkathi Bhairavan (1979) directly inspired director S. P. Muthuraman to cast them again in Viswaroopam (1980). That film's success convinced producers that a young heroine could hold screen space opposite an aging legend — opening doors for more age-gap romances in Tamil cinema.
• Sridevi once told an interviewer: 'With Sivaji sir, I didn't have to act. I just had to listen. He gave me the scene on a plate.' She said this in a 1984 interview with Kumudam magazine.
• In Sandhippu (1983), Sivaji insisted on a single-take climax scene where he and Sridevi argue without cuts. He told the crew he wanted her raw energy to push him. The take ran 7 minutes. It's the scene Tamil audiences still quote.
