Ponnu Oorukku Pudhusu(1979)
Ponnu Oorukku Pudhusu (transl. The girl is new to town) is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by R. Selvaraj in his directorial debut. The film stars Saritha, Sudhakar, Vijayan, and S. Vijayalakshmi. The story follows Rukmani, a young woman who moves to a new town seeking work and independence, but faces threats from a local gambler while a kind man named Pichaimuthu falls in love with her. The film was shot primarily in Bodinayakanur and features a soundtrack composed by Ilaiyaraaja, which includes the controversial banned song 'Oram Po'. It was released on 5 May 1979 and became one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year.

Storyline
