Varaprasadham(1976)
Varaprasadham (transl. Boon) is a 1976 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Narayanan, who also wrote the screenplay. The story was written by K. S. Mathangan. The film stars Ravichandran, Jayachitra, Vijayakumar, and M. N. Rajam, with Major Sundarrajan, S. A. Ashokan, Manorama, and Suruli Rajan in supporting roles. The plot follows a poor farmer who receives a supernatural boon granting him wealth, but the gift brings unforeseen consequences that test his family and values. The songs were composed by R. Govardhanam, while Ilaiyaraaja composed the background score — his first in cinema. The film was praised by Navamani for its acting, dialogues, and direction. It was released on 13 April 1976.

Storyline
A poor farmer named Ramu prays desperately for a miracle to save his family from poverty. A mysterious old man grants him a boon of sudden wealth. But the gold brings jealousy, betrayal, and heartbreak. Ramu must choose between his riches and the people he loves.
