Raja Nagam(1974)
Raja Nagam is a 1974 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by N. S. Manian. The film stars Srikanth, Manjula, Shubha, and Major Sundarrajan. It is a remake of the Kannada film Naagarahaavu, which was based on three novels by T. R. Subba Rao. The story follows Krishnamurthi, a short-tempered college student who falls in love twice but faces opposition from family and society. His blind obedience to his teacher leads to tragic consequences for everyone involved. The film was praised for its emotional depth and strong performances, with Shubha winning the Chennai Film Fans' Association Award for Best Supporting Actress. It was released on 25 July 1974 and became a commercial success, running for over 100 days in theatres.

Storyline
Krishnamurthi is a hot-tempered college student who is hated by his father but loved by his old teacher. He falls in love with Alamelu, but her family forces her into an arranged marriage. Years later, he finds love again with Margaret, a Christian woman. But their families oppose the interfaith relationship. Krishnamurthi must choose between blind obedience to tradition and fighting for the love that could save him.
