'Kattila Thottila' (transl. Cot or Cradle?) is a 1973 Indian Tamil-language family drama film directed by Malliyam Rajagopal. The film stars Gemini Ganesan and P. Bhanumathi in lead roles, with Sivakumar, Kalpana, and Manorama in supporting parts. It is a remake of the 1972 Kannada film 'Naa Mechida Huduga', which was based on the story 'Divorce In Indian Style' by P. S. Vaidyanathan. The story revolves around a husband torn between his wife and his controlling mother, leading to a family breakdown. The film explores themes of marital conflict, female independence, and the toxicity of joint family dynamics. The music was composed by V. Kumar with lyrics by Vaali. The song 'Oru Vidha Mayakkam' was shot at Vijaya Gardens. The film was released on 28 September 1973.

Storyline
Sundaram loves his wife Meenakshi, but his mother and sister treat her cruelly. Sundaram refuses to take a stand, and Meenakshi is thrown out of the house. She builds a new independent life while Sundaram is left with regret. He must find the courage to choose his wife over his toxic family.
