Iru Thuruvam(1971)
Iru Thuruvam (transl. Two Poles) is a 1971 Indian Tamil-language crime drama film directed by S. Ramanathan and produced by P. S. Veerappa. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Padmini, and R. Muthuraman in lead roles, with Nagesh and Major Sundarrajan in supporting roles. It is a remake of the 1961 Hindi film Gunga Jumna, focusing on two brothers who end up on opposite sides of the law after a landlord's atrocities force one into a life of crime. The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan with lyrics by Kannadasan. The film was released on 14 January 1971 and failed commercially.

Storyline
Two brothers grow up in a poor village. The elder brother Rangan works hard so his younger brother Durai can become a police officer. But an evil landlord frames Rangan for a crime. Rangan is forced to become a dacoit. When Durai returns as a police officer, he must arrest his own brother. Their bond is tested by fate and injustice.
