Padhukappu (transl. Protection) is a 1970 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed and produced by A. Bhimsingh. The lead cast includes Sivaji Ganesan, Jayalalithaa, T. S. Balaiah, and Major Sundarrajan. The story follows Kanthan, a farmer who punishes his younger brother for theft, causing a family rift. The brother later seeks revenge but ultimately realizes Kanthan's actions were rooted in love. The film was the final collaboration between Bhimsingh and Ganesan. Storyline
Kanthan is a simple farmer who loves his family deeply. When his younger brother steals money, Kanthan throws him out of the house to teach him a lesson. His family turns against him. Years later, the brother returns seeking revenge. Kanthan must fight to protect his family and prove that his tough love was the right choice.
