
Panakkara Kudumbam(1964)
Panakkara Kudumbam (transl. Rich Family) is a 1964 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed and produced by T. R. Ramanna under RR Pictures. The film stars M. G. Ramachandran and B. Saroja Devi in lead roles, with Nagesh, Manimala, S. A. Ashokan, R. S. Manohar, and G. Sakunthala in supporting roles. The story follows Muthaiya, a man who marries for wealth and attempts to murder his first wife, leading to years of secrets and conflict when his daughter Rani falls in love with the honest Thambi. The film was a commercial success, running for over 150 days in theatres. It was remade in Hindi as Humjoli (1970), in Kannada as Bhale Huduga (1978), and in Telugu as Intiguttu (1984). The soundtrack was composed by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy with lyrics by Kannadasan. The film was released on 24 April 1964.

Storyline
A poor young man named Thambi falls in love with Rani, a rich girl. But Rani’s father Muthaiya has a dark secret: he once tried to kill his first wife for money. Now his greedy brother-in-law wants to marry Rani. Thambi must fight to save Rani and reunite her with her long-lost mother.
