Naanum Oru Penn (1963) is a Tamil-language drama film directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar. The film stars S. S. Rajendran and R. Vijayakumari in lead roles, with S. V. Ranga Rao, M. R. Radha, and Nagesh in supporting parts. The story follows Kalyani, a dark-skinned and illiterate woman who marries into a wealthy family and faces rejection from her husband and father-in-law. The film explores themes of inner beauty, education, and family loyalty. It won the National Film Award for Best Tamil Feature Film and was a commercial success, running for 25 weeks in theatres. The film was remade in Hindi and Telugu. It was released on 7 June 1963.

Storyline
A dark-skinned, uneducated girl named Kalyani is tricked into marrying a wealthy man who wanted a beautiful, educated bride. Her husband and father-in-law reject her because of her appearance and illiteracy. Kalyani must prove that her character and loyalty are worth more than her skin color or lack of schooling.
