Paasam(1962)
'Paasam' (transl. Affection) is a 1962 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by T. R. Ramanna. The film stars M. G. Ramachandran, Kalyan Kumar, and B. Saroja Devi in lead roles. The story follows Gopi, a man who accidentally committed a murder as a child and later searches for his mother and brother. The narrative explores themes of family separation, sacrifice, and maternal love. The film is notable for its tragic ending in which Ramachandran's character dies, which led to commercial failure due to fan backlash. The music was composed by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy with lyrics by Kannadasan. The film was released on 31 August 1962 and distributed by Emgeeyaar Pictures in Madras.

Storyline
A young man named Gopi is released from a juvenile home after accidentally committing a murder. He searches for his lost mother and brother. He lands in a village where his brother Raghu lives, but they do not recognize each other. Gopi falls in love, faces rejection, and gets caught in a revenge plot that threatens his own family.
