• Saroja Devi once told an interviewer: 'Radha sir was a genius, but he lived in his own world. I just had to follow his rhythm — if I tried to lead, the scene would fall apart.'
• Their first film together, Palum Pazhamum (1961), was a gamble. Director A. Bhimsingh cast Saroja Devi opposite M. R. Radha — a comedian known for villain roles — and the pairing was so unexpected that distributors almost backed out. The film became a sleeper hit.
• Radha’s booming, theatrical style forced Saroja Devi to dial down her own performance. She later said she learned to act with her eyes because he took up all the space with his voice. That restraint made her a better dramatic actress.
• Their 1962 film Paasam was the first Tamil movie to feature a double-role for a female lead — Saroja Devi played twin sisters. The film’s success directly inspired later twin-sister dramas like Moondru Mugam (1982).
