Irumbu Thirai (1960) is an Indian Tamil-language drama film produced and directed by S. S. Vasan under Gemini Studios. The cast includes Sivaji Ganesan, Vyjayanthimala, B. Saroja Devi, K. A. Thangavelu, and S. V. Ranga Rao. The story follows two brothers, Manickam and Saravanan, who are divided by a factory owner's greed. Manickam leads a workers' strike against unfair wages and poor conditions. The film is a remake of Vasan's Hindi film Paigham (1959). It was praised for its strong social commentary on capital-labour relations. The soundtrack was composed by S. V. Venkatraman with lyrics by multiple poets. The film was a commercial success, running for over 175 days and achieving silver jubilee status.

Storyline
Manickam is a poor mill worker who loves his family. When the greedy factory owner Mohanarangam refuses to pay fair wages, Manickam leads a strike. His own brother Saravanan sides with the owner, tearing the family apart. Manickam must fight for justice in court while winning back his brother's love.
