Trivia
- The film's title track 'I Am a Disco Dancer' was originally composed for Mithun Chakraborty's earlier hit film 'Disco Dancer' but was not used.
- Director Babbar Subhash was known for making dance-centric films and often reused popular songs from his previous movies.
- This was one of the last films of actress Smita Patil, who passed away in 1986 before the film's release.
- The villain A.M. Singh, played by Amrish Puri, shares a similar menacing persona with his iconic role of Mogambo in 'Mr. India' released the same year.
- The film features Mandakini, who became famous for her role in 'Ram Teri Ganga Maili', in a rare dance-oriented performance.
- Despite being an action-musical, the film underperformed at the box office compared to Mithun's earlier disco hits.
- Shakti Kapoor, who plays Resham, was often cast in negative or comic roles but here portrays a supportive husband character.
