Trivia
- The film was directed by Nasir Hussain, who was better known for his successful romantic musicals, making this a rare action-drama entry in his filmography.
- It was one of the final films for actor Shammi Kapoor before he shifted to playing more mature character roles in the late 1980s.
- The movie's music was composed by R.D. Burman, but its songs did not achieve the same popularity as his other soundtracks from that era.
- A key plot point involves a house fire, a dramatic trope also used in other popular 1980s revenge dramas like 'Karma'.
- The film's title, 'Zabardast', which translates to 'terrific' or 'forceful', was a common catchphrase in 1980s Hindi film titles.
- Despite featuring established stars, the film was not a major commercial success and is less remembered compared to other releases of 1985.
- The cast included veteran actor Pran, who often played villains, but here he played a supporting character on the side of the hero.
