• In Mashaal (1984), director Yash Chopra paired Rati Agnihotri and Amrish Puri for the first time. Chopra cast Puri as the villain specifically to bounce off Rati's vulnerable, innocent energy — he told Puri to dial down his usual bombast so their scenes felt like a real threat, not a cartoon.
• On the set of Ek Aur Sikander (1986), Rati later recalled that Amrish Puri would deliberately stay in character between takes — looming near her chair without speaking — to keep her off-balance for their confrontation scenes. She said it made her reactions genuinely scared.
• Despite playing his victim in two films, Rati Agnihotri became close friends with Amrish Puri off-screen. She was one of the few co-stars he invited to his home for Sunday lunches, where he'd cook Punjabi food and refuse to talk about cinema.
• Their third and final film together, Dev (2004), was the only one where they shared no screen time — Rati played a supporting role in a different timeline of the story.
