Trivia
- The film's title translates to 'By the Oath of the One Who Gave Birth', which is a dramatic way of saying 'I swear on my mother'.
- This was one of the few films where actor Mithun Chakraborty played a character who starts as a child and grows into an insane adult.
- Director Babbar Subhash was known for his stylish, disco-influenced films, but this movie had a much darker and more dramatic tone.
- The soundtrack was composed by Bappi Lahiri, who was famous for disco hits, but here the music leaned more toward dramatic and emotional songs.
- Actress Smita Patil, known for serious parallel cinema roles, played the female lead Aarti, which was a shift toward a more commercial film for her.
- The film's plot of a man being driven insane for property and a wife with a secret plan was part of a popular revenge-drama trend in the 1980s.
- Despite its intense story, the film did not perform as well at the box office as the director's more famous musical films like 'Disco Dancer'.
