Trivia

  • The film was originally titled 'Pasa Kiligal' but was briefly renamed 'Maragadham' before release, reflecting the sister's name in the story.
  • Director Amirtham, known for his work as an assistant to major directors, made his directorial debut with this film.
  • The movie's plot of a village rivalry over a marriage is a recurring theme in Tamil cinema, similar to older films like 'Nadodi' (1992).
  • Actor Livingston, who plays a key role, was primarily known for comedy but took on a more serious character in this drama.
  • The film's soundtrack by composer Srikanth Deva included a folk-style song 'Kadhal Vandhuchu' that did not gain major popularity.
  • It was shot extensively in rural Tamil Nadu locations to authentically depict the village setting of Melur and Aalur.
  • The movie had a limited theatrical run and is not widely remembered, unlike many other Tamil dramas from the mid-2000s.
