  • The film's climax was shot in a single, continuous 11-minute take, a rare technical feat in Tamil cinema at the time.
  • Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja recorded the song 'Kadhal Valarthen' in a single sitting, late at night, to capture a raw feel.
  • The movie was a major commercial success, running for over 100 days in many theaters despite its intense and tragic storyline.
  • Director Selvaraghavan based the character of Kathir's mannerisms and outbursts on observations of people in his own neighborhood.
  • A scene where Kathir smashes a TV was improvised by actor Ravi Krishna, surprising both the crew and his co-star Sonia Agarwal.
