Trivia
- This was the only Tamil film directed by Pavithran, who was primarily known as a successful cinematographer.
- The film's climax was shot in a specially constructed large set depicting a political rally, which was a technical challenge for its time.
- Actor Vijayakumar, who played the antagonist Sigamani, was often cast as a hero but took this negative role for a change.
- A real lorry was modified and used extensively for the protagonist's introductory scenes to add authenticity.
- The movie's release coincided with a period of heightened political film themes in Tamil cinema during the mid-1990s.
- Composer Deva reused one of the film's popular melodies from an earlier unreleased project for a song sequence.
- Despite being an action drama, the film included a comedy track featuring supporting actors Manivannan and Vadivelu.
